Merino sheep are among the strongest sheep in the world. They call home to some of the world's most beautiful, yet extremely rugged places. The altitudes where they live can range from sea level to mountain passes. In winter, the temperature on the snowy plateau plummets to minus 15 degrees Celsius. In summer, Merino sheep are at ease in the heat that gradually rises to 35 degrees Celsius.

Merino wool, often considered ideal for cold weather. If that's all there is to it, then our merino sheep won't survive. Nature knows it best, and it provides them with the perfect year-round comfort "clothing" to keep them warm in the cold and cool in the heat.
Therefore, Merino wool has a microstructural "crimp". This crimp gives the fibers better resilience and durability; at the same time, it traps still air, giving it thermal insulating properties. When the outside world is cool, it helps you keep your body warm, and when the ambient temperature rises, it keeps the heat out.
Running socks made of merino wool have similar properties.
