The Material Of Sports Socks

    Cotton: A material that everyone is familiar with, it absorbs sweat and is skin-friendly. But in fact, there are a lot of attention to the process of cotton into cotton yarn. Usually the cotton yarns used in sports socks on the market are spun from ring spinning. The characteristics of cotton yarn using this textile technology are that it is soft to the touch, but it is easy to pilling.

    Polyester: If you see a pair of sports socks on the market with a high polyester (non-modified polyester) content of >60%, it may not be that good. Because the price of ordinary polyester is the cheapest, many brands will choose polyester to make sports socks for higher profits. But polyester has a fatal disadvantage, that is, it is very easy to pill. Moreover, polyester itself does not absorb sweat, and it will breed bacteria after wearing it for a long time, which is prone to odor.

    Polyacrylonitrile fiber (ordinary acrylic fiber): In fact, this material is not suitable for socks, because acrylic fiber has a characteristic that it will heat up when rubbed. Moreover, acrylic fiber itself does not absorb sweat, so if it is made into sports socks, it will be very stuffy during use, and it is very easy to pill. Acrylic products are generally only suitable for autumn and winter thermal products. For example, UNIQLO's hot-selling HEATTECH underwear in recent years is made of acrylic.

    Spandex, diene elastic fibers: A pair of professional sports socks should have strong enough wrapping properties, so the higher the content of elastic bands, the better the wrapping properties of this pair of socks. Another tip: Do not use softener on clothing, underwear, and socks with elastic bands. The elastic will loosen when it hits the softener.

    Cotton fiber: two cases

    1. As a wrapping yarn for elastic yarn. The wrapped yarn of cotton fiber will be much more expensive than that of polyester, because the elasticity of cotton fiber will be much better than that of polyester, and the resulting socks will be well wrapped;

    2. Use as surface material. The cotton fiber has good elasticity and good perspiration. However, it does not absorb sweat very much, and sweat is easy to accumulate in the shoes, and it is easy to slip the feet.

    A pair of professional sports socks should actually contain high-quality cotton, polyester fiber or cotton fiber, spandex, and diene elastic fiber in a balanced ratio. This enables sports socks to absorb sweat and breathable without slipping or stuffy feet on the premise of ensuring wrapping protection.
